Wednesday, May 7th

Hi there everyone! Today has been a mellow one; the weather didn't permit to do too much, so we hung out at home quite a bit, and...I GOT A NAP! That's right, sure did, and it was very much enjoyable! :-) Thank you to my little munchkin for letting Mommy relax, kick her heels up, and catch some Z's this afternoon!!!

This evening, we hit a baseball game. It was still raining, so we stayed in the car, but I'm tellin' ya now...I have a future pro-ball player on my hands! HE LOVED IT! He watched the game very intensely for quite some time. It was neat!!!

I got some work done around here when we got home; Rowan received some new sippys, bowls and snack trap cups from Autumn, so I had to get some boiling done...lol Yep, I still do that! I also boiled all his bottles and nipples, all the stuff I could find pretty much.
Rowan is sleeping sweet right now, and I have to get up super early tomorrow, so I am hoping I can fall asleep quickly tonight...perhaps some wine is in order??? Hmmm...lol

Oh no...I just saw the end of Idol...what a bummer, Jason Castro is going home! Jason, I have enjoyed watching and listening to you this season!!! Hope you make an album SOON, include lots of pictures...I shall miss seing you....XOXOXOXOX
Okay, I am attaching some pictures from tonight; I decided NOT to put Rowan in the tub, and instead I just took a wash cloth and soap to him...it was much simpler! Only problem, his hair got a little out of control!

Some more pictures

These are from Rachel and Rex's reception this past Saturday.

Tuesday, May 6th

Today was beautiful and oh, so wonderful!!!!!!!! I got to talk to my man today, always a big mood booster! One problem though: his timing...and he doesn't understand that I cannot just sit at the computer and talk to him for hours! I have a munchkin running around crazy, and when he is napping it is time for mommy to get stuff done. Sorry baby! You know I would talk to you all day if I had the option!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I had a good one today. I got some iced coffee, energy! WOOHOOO I put some pork chops, potatoes, and corn on the cob on the grill, baked a french loaf and made some deviled eggs for dinner. Rowan LOVED it all. HEHE I went for a walk with Ro and the dogs, always fun to get out for a bit!
So yeah, today was good, but not too busy...the way I like it! Good night all!

XOXOXOX

JAMIE'S ADDRESS

Hello! I got to talk to Jamie briefly today, and I finally have an address for him! I am leery to post it on here for the world to see, but if you are interested in having his address, please leave me a comment with an email address, and I will send it to you! THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Monday, May 5th

Today was relatively uneventful for the most part, so nothing major to report. I did get some errands ran, went to take a few things back and to the grocery store for some must-haves: milk, eggs, cereal, bread, juice, etc. I also got to the gym tonight for chi ball class, my favorite!!! I love that class. It's very relaxing and straining at the same time.
I was starving tonight, and went to get breakfast from Perkins! MMM MMM GOOD! Too bad it ruined the day for calories! Rowan hasn't been eating too much, but he is taking the milk now which is nice. He is in bed, and I am headed there myself. Jamie can't get on to read my blogs for a few days, so I will be keeping these brief for the most part!

XOXOXOXOXOX

Sunday, May 4th

I did not sleep very well last night, and it was totally my own fault. Rowan slept all night long, a miracle in itself! I finally fell asleep around 1:00 AM and was up about every hour on the hour. Ridiculous, I think I need sleeping pills, seriously!!! Anyway, first thing this morning, I was looking at the paper for open houses. I found 5 that I wanted to go and see. Well, the day got a little crazy because of plans that I didn't know about, and no...I'm not complaining, just to make it clear!!! :-) Anyway, so no luck in the house department; and WHY, oh WHY would ANYONE make a ONE BEDROOM HOUSE??? Does this make any logical sense at ALL? Honestly? Okay, so I can understand that a person may have no need to have more bedrooms, but do they not think of RESALE VALUE FOLKS????????????????????????????????? Blows my mind, honestly...it does. So yeah, no luck there today either, and I am getting really agitated. I am ready to find a house already; it is spring time, I want a garden, I want a swing on the porch, a swing set for Rowan and Kyle, I want a room for my Kyle bug when he comes to see me this summer. I am done, and I am ready. WHY OH WHY can I not find a damn thing in this God forsaken town? I am ready to pitch a tent...okay? ANYONE SELLING A THREE BEDROOM HOUSE IN THIS AREA, PLEASE CONTACT ME!!!!!!!!!! I WANT A GARAGE AND MAYBE A BASEMENT, A FENCED YARD, THAT'S REALLY ALL...I am relatively easy to please!
So yeah, then we went to Meradosia for lunch, it's about 30 minutes from here, in the middle of nowhere, but that is where the fam wanted to go. It was pretty good, I must say. I had a salad and baked tilapia, YUM YUM! Rowan didn't eat much; he was tired and grumpy.
Tonight, I finally heard from Jamie; we talked on the computer for a while, since he can't call. We got to talk for quite a while. Rowan was playing in the sun room, being silly as always. :-)
Tonight, Rowan and I took a bath...oh Lord. He was a bear the whole time. He would NOT sit down, he wanted to stand up, but couldn't understand why he kept slipping and getting water in his face. I just let him...he wouldn't listen!!! I love my child, I really do! So, he is in bed, where I should be...I am going now...night night!

Saturday, May 3rd

It is 11:00 PM, and I am just getting home and settled. Today, again, was very busy. I had a million errands to run first thing this morning. I decided to brake down and take myself shopping for something to wear to my cousin's reception tonight. I went and bought two dresses and one dress shirt, then went to Claire's to get some cute accessories. Once I got home and started getting ready, I realized I really wasn't too crazy about any of my new stuff, and I chose to wear a dress I already had...so, I will be taking back all of my new stuff tomorrow...which is good, b/c we really can't be spending money on clothes right now!!! LOL
I won't bore you with the tedious details of the day today b/c I am too tired...just being honest. We got to the reception around 4:30. It was soooo nice to see everyone!!!!!!!!!!! We had a really great time; Rowan and I danced up a storm, until he got too tired to even walk...lol Aunt Jamie ended up putting him to sleep (THANK YOU AUNT JAMIE!!!!!!!!!!!). My nephew, Miles, was hysterical!!!!! He loves parties, and let me tell ya...that boy has some MOVES! LOL He is so sweet. :-) I don't know how my sister does it; Miles, 2 1/2, has food allergies, and she is constantly on her toes making sure he is safe and not getting into anything that he is allergic to. She also has a nine month old, Graham. I'm tellin' ya, she is a freakin' saint!!! It's insane, and being around her and the boys, I realize how lucky I am that Rowan is not allergic to foods...it's insane the extra care and work she puts into raising her boys. If you would like more information on her and the boys, see her blog: milkallergymom.blogspot.com
Okay, so I am bummed out. When I got home, I checked my cell, and realized that Jamie had called me several times...I MISSED HIS CALLS FOR TWO DAYS!!!!!!!!!! I am going to glue my phone to my hip tomorrow. SORRY BABY! I MISS AND LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!
Okay, this blog makes no sense, and I don't even care. GOOD NIGHT!!!

Relaxed

It is 9:34 PM, and I just got done spoiling myself! WOOHOO Everyone woman needs to spoil themselves every so often! I painted my toes and fingernails, took a bubble bath, put my mask and moisturizer on, lotioned myself down, and put on my silk jammies. Hopefully this will help me relax and sleep well tonight; Rowan has already woken up once, so it may be a long night!

PS: I MISS YOU, JAMIE!!! WE LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! MUAH XOXOXOXOXOXO

Friday, May 2nd

Today, I made my to-do list and then totally blew it off; it was a liberating feeling! I pretty much accomplished nothing, other than spending lots of QT with my wonderful little boy. I did get some meals premade; I fried up some hamburger for a quick meal for Rowan later this weekend, and I baked some chicken nuggets and tator tots and cut up some fruit and veggies, steamed them. And that is pretty much IT, whew...nice and relaxing. The problem with this, however, is that now tomorrow will be even more busy! I have got to get to the bridal store to pay for my bride's maid's dress for Autumn's wedding next month, get it fitted and ready to alter, go grocery shopping, go shopping for a top to wear to my cousin's reception tomorrow night, hit a birthday party at 2:00 for my cousin's daughter and then get to Springfield by 4:30 for the reception. I am way excited for the reception, and I can't WAIT to see all of the Hatcher family that I haven't seen in FOREVER!!!!!!!! Most of them I haven't seen since my own wedding three years ago, and some before that.
Well, as for Rowan, he is growing so quickly. He is finally accepting whole milk in replacement of formula. I am hoping that this will lead us to sippy cups instead of bottles!!! He does okay with a cup during the day, but at night time he HAS to have his BABA, or watch out!!! The fits and tantrums begin, and they don't stop! I need to just hold strong, but I haven't been able to yet...bad mom, I know...thank you...
He is getting to where he really is understanding things better; he doesn't necessarily communicate much yet (with words anyway), but he does understand when I ask him to do something, like, "give that to mommy", "throw that away", "that is icky", "don't put that in your mouth", etc. He follows direction very well for the most part!!! He is such a doll baby, although I definitely have my moments where I would use a different adjective to describe his behavior! LOL
So, I have some appointments to look at different houses on Sunday. A little nervous, yes I am. I'll keep you updated on that one.

So, I have to get a little emotional on you tonight...please forgive me. Today was a little bit of a rough one. I sent an email for our family and friends, just letting them know the updates on Jamie. My mother in law e-mailed me back, and was very upset. She was having "one of those days" today, and was crying uncontrollably at work about Jamie being in Iraq. She called me when she got home, and she was still very emotional and upset. When I read her email, I couldn't help but think about being in her position when my own children are older. As a mom myself now, I cannot even imagine being in her shoes, and honestly, I hope I never am. She is very much proud of Jamie and Joshua (my brother in law, also in the Army), do not misread me. She does however, fear for her sons' lives and safety. I knew that she hurt for them and missed them, especially in Iraq, but I never really gave it too much thought. I do not envy her position. She has raised and protected her children all of these years, and yes they may be grown, but they are her babies nonetheless. Now, Jamie is somewhere a world away from her, and there is nothing she can do to protect him, as she has always done before. I look at Rowan, and I can only hope and pray that I will always be near to protect him; as mothers, that is our instinct.
I can tell you how to handle Iraq and deployments as a wife, as a mother of a military child (though I am still figuring this one out), but I have no idea how to console a mother whose child is in harms way. To all of the mothers with children (no matter what their age) away and fighting this war, you too are heroes, and I thank you for the sacrifices you make everyday.
I didn't know what to say to Sherry today. I have never really heard her upset and crying (not like this). I wished I was there to hug her, but we are hundreds of miles apart. I heard myself saying words to her that I wish people would say to me, I guess....I don't really talk about Jamie being gone. Nobody really asks about how I am doing, how Rowan and Kyle are doing, and I have gotten to where I almost prefer it that way. If I am not talking about it, it's like it isn't really happening (though in my heart I know it is). I don't focus on Jamie being in Iraq, in fact I try to do everything in my power to keep my mind off of it. Until the wee hours of night, everything is fine; I am fine; Rowan and Kyle are fine...then the sun goes down, Rowan goes to bed, all is still...all but my heart...and then it is okay to be me, to be upset, to let the tears fall, and to let my heart ache.
Rowan is now in bed, and I am going to go and let myself be upset and cry.....goodnight...

More on May 1st...

FIRST: SCROLL DOWN FOR SOME NEW PICTURES I ADDED TODAY. THERE ARE SOME OF ROWAN AT THE MALL, AND ONE OF HIM ASLEEP IN THE CAR...GO LOOK!!!

Okay, now that I have that out! LOL Well, we are calling it a night already. It is 8:30, and Rowan and I are both wiped out. He is getting a cold or something again; he sounds really wheezy...poor baby! I gave him a bath in the tub again tonight, hoping that will help clear his nose; the steam works for me sometimes! I rubbed him down with the lavender and chamomile lotion, got him in his jammies, gave him a snack and a baba, and he is in bed. Hopefully he sleeps well tonight. He's such an angel baby; I can't imagine life before him!!!

I am tempted to get a bottle of wine out and take a bubble bath, but I have other stuff to do before I go to bed. I washed all the sheets and blankets today, and my bed is still bare! YIKES! Rowan is fast asleep...hehe sweet boy! Ohhh, dishes need done, laundry is in the dryer, the list is never ending.
That's it for now, so off I go to finish the mama chores!
