house-free day

Today, I took a break from the house. Ro had his 15 month appointment, so we went to Spfld. and did a little house shopping before the doc. I got a picture for the kitchen and found a great deal on frames at Gordman's! I can't wait to see how the picture looks with the colors.
Ro is healthy as a horse, and strong as an ox...he got his shots and has had some diarrhea this evening. I let him stay up late and eat cookies...he was such a trooper today!

Wowza paint!!!

Today Autumn had the day off, so she volunteered to help me ALL DAY! Also, Melissa came over to help when she got off work. Do I have the best friends or what!!!??? We started around 9:30 this morning, and stopped around 7:00 tonight...long, tough day! I am so tired, I think I very well may go to bed with paint all over me! We got the second coat on Ro's room, tell me what you think of the color. We still need to paint the trim white, paint the blue stripes on the wall, paint the door, closet and area between the two bedrooms...however, we ran out of the paint!!!

We started on the kitchen so that we can get the appliances in. I loved the bottom, the red color (chianti to be exact), but I did not like the Thistle green above it (see picture behind stove). I love the color, but together it looked like Christmas! YIKES! So, I decided to go with the gold color instead (my first instinct), and I will use the two shades of green in Kyle's bedroom. Be honest, tell me what you think!!! I am going for the Tuscany look, think grapes and wine. I think it will look sharp when it is finished!!!

The last picture of the kitchen shows the bottom finished, but the top still needs a second coat. We were exhausted and needed to STOP! We need to paint around the cabinets also.
My goal: finish the kitchen upper coat, put second coat on sam

e, and get second coat on the master bedroom. I also need to do all that I listed above, to Ro's room. THEN, I will tackle all the other rooms! AHHH, I need a nap just thinking about it!

productive day!

Thanks to EVERYONE who has helped! I feel like I am finally making progress. I was at the house pretty much all day...and it was nice! The girls came over, and we got a lot done! We finished washing the walls in the nursery, primed and painted! We also got the master bedroom done...well, we need the second coat. For Ro's room, we need a second coat and then we will add the blue stripes! WOHHOOO

House update

Well, it has been busy!!! Our new home is awesome, and I love it, but it sure is a lot of work!!! It is keeping me busy, keeping my mind off of Jamie being gone, so that is a plus! :-) I was anxious to get in and start painting. I wanted to start with the kitchen and Ro's room. Two days ago, my amazing friends, Melissa and Autumn, came over to help. We started priming the bottom of the kitchen walls (it was BOLD BLUE!!!) We got one coat on, and had fun doing it. Autumn and I decided to next tackle Ro's room. There was one wall that I knew I would have to prime; it had bright stripes on it...cute, but pink! Well, when I started, I went to check a piece that was peeling...turns out, it peeled ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE CEILING!!! WHOA!!! So, we just started tearing it all off, duh!

The next day, I went over to get the second coat on the kitchen

, and finish peeling off the nursery paint. I started to get really frustrated at the peeling...it was taking forever, trying to use only my fingernails! Well, my BRILLIANT hubby called and told me to go get a paint scraper! God love him! Well, in the meantime, I got the chair railing off the kitchen, in an effort to do a better job painting...OOPS!!! Well, there was wallpaper under it, no biggie...just peel it off! WRONG!!! Off came the paint, wallpaper, and primer I had just applied! OH NO! I was pretty much in tears at this point.

On a good note, it is fixable. I have to plaster it, sand it, then prime it...THEN I can finally paint! For Ro's room, I was told it is not completely hopeless. I need to peel the rest of the paint off the walls and ceilings (they used an OIL based paint, thus the peeling, and he suspected they used outdoor paint too), then sand it, then scrub it down making sure to get all the grit off, then prime it twice, and finally...paint!

My girls came over again tonight. LOVE YOU GIRLS!!! We got ALL the paint off, and sanded it down. We looked like we had been playing in flour or something! Tomorrow I am going to vacuum it up, clean the walls, and start priming! WOOHOO Check out Kayli, covered in paint! LOL

Sorry readers!

To my readers,
I want to apologize for being too busy to keep up with the blog! I did have Rowan checked by the radiologist, and it went really well. I will give details later.

We closedo n our new house, and I am working my butt off to get it ready to "move into". Lastnight, Melissa and Autumn came over to help. We got the garage mostly cleaned out, and primed the kitchen walls for paint. Also, we started on Ro's room...big mess, story later.

Basically, the couple who lived there prior, left the house full of JUNK! I am a little peeved. I'll give more details later!

LOOKY AT WHAT I JUST FOUND!!! FREE DIAPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The following was found at babycheapskate.com, and I am super excited to try this out!!! Generic diapers, never been a huge fan...but for FREE! Okay, where do I sign???

There is going to be an awesome deal coming up at Walgreens for the week of June 29th that will get you free Walgreens brand diapers. On June 29 the new sales ad will start. Walgreens brand Jumbo packages of diapers (both the white and red packages) will be on sale for $5.99 each. In the July Easysaver booklet there will be a coupon in there for $5 off 2 packages of Walgreens diapers. This coupon will automaticallyadjust itself and give you 2.50 each package you buy. This booklet will be available in stores starting June 27th.You also need to go to the pharmacy and ask for a $50 Walgreens savings booklet. These booklets are free to anyone who asks about the newprescription savings plan. You don't have to buy the savings plan justask about it and get the booklet. Many employees don't know where thebooklets are so insist that someone who does know get one for you. They are a white and red booklet that is folded over 3 times and contains various Walgreens coupons for their store brand items. One of the coupons inside that book is for $2 off one package of Walgreens branddiapers. This coupon automatically scans for $2 off each package you buy. Both of the above coupons are Walgreens store coupons. You can combine them for the same purchase. All you have to do is present them to the cashier and they both scan fine. Also since both are store coupons the cashier will not need them for their drawer like a regular coupon. Shescans them and you can keep them for future purchases. So hang on to them both! Even though they may say limit one they scan and give you the adjusted amount off for each package you buy.During the entire month from June 27th until July 28th Walgreens has another deal where you buy any 3 listed products (this deal is advertised in the Easysaver coupon & rebate booklet) you will get a $5 Register Reward Coupon for anything on your next purchase. WalgreensJumbo diapers are one of the qualifying products. So this is how to maximize the deal and get FREE Diapers! Remember for the week of June 29th!Buy three packages of Walgreens brand Jumbo diapers (white or red package) for $5.99 each on sale. Your total will be $17.97. Give the cashier your Easysaver coupon in the Easysaver booklet for $5 off when you buy two packages. Remember this will give you 2.50 off each package for a total off of $7.50 Your total now will be $10.47. Now give the cashier your $2 coupon that is inside the Pharmacy coupon booklet. This will give you $6 off total. Now your total will be $4.47You need to pay the $4.47. After you pay you will recieve a coupon from the coupon machine next to the register for $5 off your next purchase of almost anything. This makes the diapers FREE in essence. This deal is unlimited! But there are a few tricks to get the mostout of it. Do not buy more than 3 packages in one transaction. If you buy 6 packages you will not recieve two $5 Register coupons. So only buy 3 at a time.Remember to keep your two coupons for each additional purchase you make. The cashiers do not need to keep them since they are store coupons and the register automatically keeps track of how many are used. When you get your $5 Register coupon DO NOT use it to help pay for your second transaction of more diapers. This will void out you getting another $5 coupon. The only way to get a $5 register coupon for each transaction is to pay with cash, debit, credit or giftcard. Just save all your register coupons. The pharmacy coupon booklets are available now. So if you want to get that early go ahead. The July Easysaver booklet that has the $5 diaper coupon will not be available until June 27th. The sale price does not start until June 29th. So get yourself together and ready to do this deal for the week of June 29th.
